Dear Ministry Partners:
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Yeshua! We trust this letter finds you enjoying your summer and experiencing the warmth of His love.
Donna and I want to share our ministry news and bring you up to date on the ministry. As many of you know, we have been in a period of transition and we are excited how the Lord is moving through Shalom Ministry.
Announcing Our New Church Plant
Perhaps the first thing we need to share with you is that we have launched a new church plant which we are calling Congregation Shalom. The church is Messianic in its orientation; however we are meeting on Sundays. We have a wonderful core group of men and women who are committed to the success of this new venture.
We are already in the process of baptizing 3 new believers, one of which is a Jewish woman who was our first adult that I had the honor of leading to the Lord. We will probably be conducting her marriage as I am now doing pre-marital counseling with her and have an opportunity to interact with the family. And you know me; all of them will hear the plan of Salvation.
Pastor of the Week – The Lord is Opening Doors!
Although we’ve only been meeting for a few months, someone turned my name in as Pastor of the Week, so I have been interviewed and it will be broadcasted the entire week beginning June 24th at 2:55 P.M. on WLQV 1500 AM on your dial. For those of you who are local, please take time to listen in. I think you’ll be encouraged.
Promise Keepers Michigan Convention
I am also serving as the field representative for Promise Keepers here in Michigan. I will be working in that capacity until the end of August. I am enjoying interacting with new pastors, setting up venues for Promise Keepers and of course looking for opportunities to talk about Shalom Ministry.
The men’s venue will be in Battle Creek Michigan at the Kellogg Arena on August 23 and 24, 2014. If any of our Prayer Partners are interested, please contact me at (248) 747-0878 or JDenson@pknet.org.
Shalom Ministry News
Getting back to Shalom Ministry, things are falling into place for our city-wide evangelistic campaign coming up in August, beginning with the Jew first. We certainly want you to be in prayer about this. Please also pray for us while we are looking for new donors and prayer partners. By the way, in the transition process we have lost major donors who have always undergirded us in the past.
We are certainly thankful for all they have been to Donna and me personally and to the ministry, but we have always understood that God will have a ram in the bush if you are faithful to the task. I want to assure all of our continuing supporters and all our new supporters that we will stay faithful to the task of seeing Jews and Gentiles come to Christ, and to bridge the gap between the Messianic and Christian community and forge an alliance between the Black Church and the believing Jewish Community.
Gideon’s Army and Shalom’s Upcoming Events
We covet your support now more than ever and we certainly want to continue to build our support through our Gideon’s Army. We are only asking 300 people for $30 per month which is approximately $1.00 a day. Again we thank God for those of you who are still faithful to the Lord and believe in this Ministry of Shalom.
There are other exciting events coming up through Shalom: Our “Fellowship of Suffering” tour will take place the last two weeks of this month and you will be hearing about our fall reception/banquet and of course our Christian Celebrity Roast next spring at a later date.
Continue to pray for our Jewish friends and especially for my neighbor who visited with me and I had the privilege of leading him to the Lord as well. His name is Harry and he is in his 80’s and it is a thrill to see the new glow in his countenance.
On a personal note, our granddaughter Dae’Yana received the Lord recently and she will be baptized on Father’s Day by her dad, our son David, at our new church plant. We are so proud and thrilled and looking forward to celebrating another Denson in the household of faith.
We thank all of you and may God cause His face to shine on you and give you His Shalom.
Until the Nets are full.
John and Donna Denson
